18 August 2007: Tropicana swimmingpool

Emily is quite ok! Every day she is learning new things. Currently she really enjoys her daily bath. Of course the water has to be warm enough (37 degrees) and it shouldn't take too long, but generally she is enjoying it and during the bath she is splashing with her little legs! She doesn't like the fact that we are taking her to bed around 8.30pm these days. The first few days she was crying out loud (despite some low light and baby music) for nerely half an hour. After a couple of days she apparently knew that crying doesn't help, because nowadays she only protests for a few minutes and then gradually falls asleep.!

Today we have taken Emily to the swimmingpool of Tropicana Golf & Country club. On Monday morning Jenny also took her for a swim in a private pool somewhere in KL (another mum organises baby swimming in her pool for young mothers and babies), and Emily really enjoyed this. Therefore we decided to bye her a swimsuit and a swimming jacket. The size of the gear is obviously Asian: according to the labels it's for children 2-3 year of age, but Emily has no issue in wearing the clothes!
In the pool of Tropicana she also liked splashing in the water, although the water is 'only' 32 degrees. See the photo's below !!

12 October 2007: Photo shoot

We have taken Emily for a photo shoot to a photography studio in Kuala Lumpur. It turned out that basically she is still a bit too small for a real photo shoot: she can only sit up straight for a short while with her little hands resting on the floor), but properly sitting straight is not possible yet.
During the shoot she therefore fell twice, which obviously reduced the amount of fun for her for the remaining time of the shoot....

The photo's will be ready in about 2-3 weeks time ....

12 September 2008: School

Since 3 weeks Emily goes to another school. This school is nearby Henk's office, so Jenny can drop both of them off in the morning. Emily goes to this new school 3 half days in the morning and also the whole day on Wednesday. On Friday she has to go to Schichida course during lunchtime. At this new school there are a lot of Dutch kids, which parents live and work nearby Bangsar area. She enjoys this school: the kids sing, learn and have a lot of time to play. Last Friday evening the school organized a Chinese latern festival (just like Sint-Maarten in Holland with laterns) for the occasion of Mid-Autumn/ Mooncake festival. A lot of parents and kids came to school around 7pm to celebrate. Clock on the photo on the right to see more ...
